Police are looking for a suspect after an assault in downtown Calgary last month that left two men with serious injuries and a third with minor injuries. At 1:46 a.m. on June 14, police were called to the intersection of Stephen Avenue and Second Street S.W. The Calgary Police Service (CPS) said three men were waiting for a ride when they witnessed an argument between a man and a woman. “One of the men then approached the woman to check on her well-being,” CPS said in a news release. “Investigators believe the male suspect then assaulted all three victims without warning.” Following the assault, the suspect fled northbound on Second Street S.W. while the woman left the area separately with a group of women. Police say two of the victims sustained serious injuries while the third suffered only minor injuries. CPS has obtained security footage of the area and are looking for the public’s help to identify the suspect. While no clear physical description is available, police say he was wearing distinctive clothing at the time of the assault that may assist in identifying him. “Anyone who witnessed the incident, recognizes the suspect, was with the pair earlier in the evening, or works at a nearby restaurant, bar or business and may know their identities, is asked to contact police by calling 403-266-1234,” CPS said.
