Parts of western Saskatchewan are under a wind warning Saturday, with up to 90 km/h gusts possible in some areas.

According to an alert from Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) issued around 3:30 p.m., strong winds that may cause damage are expected to move into the western region, including Kindersley Eston, Leader, Maple Creek and surrounding areas.

Winds gusting to 90 km/h are likely in the evening, but are expected to slow down by midnight.

ECCC advises people to secure loose objects and warns that damage to roofs, fences, branches, and soft shelters is possible.

The weather agency also notes that high-sided vehicles will be pushed around by the wind.
