Parts of Saskatchewan expected to feel like -50 with wind chill this weekend

All of Saskatchewan is under an orange-level cold warning, with some areas expected to feel like -50 with the wind chill over the weekend.

Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) said Friday that a multi-day episode of dangerously cold wind chills is expected.

While wind chills may improve slightly during daytime hours, ECCC warns they will drop back to feeling like below -40 each night over the next few days.

The agency advises anyone heading outdoors to dress warmly, as frostbite can develop within minutes on exposed skin.

Drivers are also urged to keep emergency supplies in their vehicles, including extra blankets and jumper cables.
