What’s open and closed in Ottawa over Easter weekend

CTVNewsOttawa.ca looks at what’s open and closed across Ottawa over the Easter long weekend.

OC Transpo

• On Friday, OC Transpo buses and O-Train Lines 1, 2 and 4 will run on a Sunday schedule.
• On Monday, OC Transpo buses and O-Train Line 1 will operate on a reduced weekday schedule. O-Train Lines 2 and 4 will run on a normal weekday schedule.
• The OC Transpo Lost and Found at St-Laurent Station will be closed on Friday and Monday
• For Para Transpo, regular bookings or recurring trips for Friday and Monday are automatically cancelled. Customers can book trips for Easter weekend by calling 613-560-5000 or using My Para Transpo

Garbage and recycling

• There will be no curbside green bin, recycling, garbage or bulky item collection on Friday or Monday. Friday’s pick up will take place on Saturday. Monday’s pick up will take place on Tuesday, April 7. All other collections will be delayed by one day for the remainder of the week.
• There will be no collections of multi-residential recycling containers, bulky items and green bins on Friday and Monday.
• The Trail Road Waste Landfill will be open on Friday and Monday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

City of Ottawa Client Service Centres

• The City’s 3-1-1 Contact Centre will be open for urgent matters only.
• ServiceOttawa’s Client Services and Provincial Offences counters will be closed on Friday and Sunday.
• The Business Licensing Centre at 735 Industrial Avenue will be closed on Friday and Sunday.
• The City of Ottawa Spay and Neuter Clinic at 26 Concourse Gate will be closed.
• The City of Ottawa Archives at the James Bartleman Centre will be closed Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

City of Ottawa Services

• Many community centres and recreation facilities will have altered hours, closures and changes to drop-in schedules
• City-operated museums, Meridian Theatres at Centrepointe, and Shenkman Arts Centre will be closed on Friday and Monday.
• The Barbara Ann Scott Gallery, Karsh-Masson Gallery and City Hall Art Gallery will be closed on Friday and Monday
• Ottawa Public Library Branches will be closed on Good Friday and on Monday
• All municipal child care centres will be closed on Friday and Monday
• All Employment and Social Services offices will be closed on Friday and Monday
• The Sexual Health Clinic will be closed
• Dental clinics operated by Ottawa Public Health will be closed Friday and Monday
• The Parenting-In-Ottawa drop-ins will be closed on Friday, Sunday, and Monday.

Malls/shopping

• Rideau Centre will be closed on Good Friday and Easter Sunday. The mall will be open on Saturday and Monday
• Tanger Outlets will be closed on Good Friday and Easter Sunday. The stores will be open on Saturday and Monday.
• Bayshore Shopping Centre, Billings Bridge Shopping Centre, Carlingwood Shopping Centre, St. Laurent Centre and Place d’Orleans will be closed on Good Friday and Easter Sunday.
• Les Promenades Gatineau will be closed on Easter Sunday. The shopping centre will be open on Good Friday, Saturday and Monday.
• Most retail stores in Ottawa will be closed on Good Friday and Easter Sunday.

Grocery stores

• Loblaws on Isabella Street will be closed on Good Friday and Easter Sunday
• Loblaws on Rideau Street will be closed on Good Friday and Easter Sunday
• All Farm Boy locations are closed on Good Friday and Easter Sunday, including the Rideau Centre
• Whole Foods at Lansdowne will be closed on Good Friday and Easter Sunday
• All other grocery stores will be closed on Good Friday and Easter Sunday

LCBO/Beer Stores

All LCBO and Beer Store locations will be closed on Good Friday and Easter Sunday.

Locations will be open on Saturday.

Mail delivery

Canada Post says there will be no mail delivery on Good Friday and Easter Monday.
