Canada Army Run

Runners hit the streets of Ottawa on Sunday for the Canada Army Run.

The 5 km, 10 km, and half-marathon races travel through Ottawa’s Centretown, Lowertown and Rockcliffe Park neighbourhoods, around Beechwood Cemetery and finish at the National War Memorial.

Richmond Fair

The Richmond Fair is celebrating 180 years this weekend with the theme, “A Country Fair – Where Town and Country Meet.”

Don’t miss the midway, horse shows, chuckwagon racing, agriculture shows, a lawn tractor pull, a parade and more.

Ottawa Redblacks

The Ottawa Redblacks host the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on Saturday afternoon at TD Place.

Ottawa Senators Fan Fest

The Ottawa Senators host the annual Fan Fest on Sunday, prior to the game against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

The Fan Fest runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., featuring the player red carpet, inflatables, face painting, games and more.

Tickets for the event are free and can be purchased here. The Senators say a Fan Fest ticket does not grant access to the pre-season game.

Tour de Gatineau

The biggest UCI women’s road cycling race in North America takes over the streets of Ottawa and Gatineau this weekend.

The Tour de Gatineau includes a road race on Saturday and the Criterium on Sunday.

Saturday’s road race includes using the Kichi Zībī Mīkan and the Portage Bridge in Ottawa.

The World of Hans Zimmer

The World of Hans Zimmer – a New Dimension visits the Canadian Tire Centre Friday night.

“(The show) features Zimmer’s brand-new arrangement of the two-time Academy Award® winner’s diverse collection of scores, precisely synchronized with epic film sequences,” says the Canadian Tire Centre website.

“While Zimmer does not perform live on stage, he is the show’s curator, producer, and musical director.”
