Ottawa International Busker Festival

Street performers take over Sparks Street this weekend for the Ottawa International Busker Festival.

World-class performers are scheduled to appear on five stages along Sparks Street until Sunday.

Les Grands Feux

Saturday night is night four of Les Grands Feux over the Ottawa River.

Mexico is the presenting country on Saturday night at the fireworks festival, with the theme “Bueno Onda.”

Les Grand Feux continues every Wednesday and Saturday until Aug. 16.

Ottawa BlackJacks

The Ottawa BlackJacks play twice this weekend at TD Place.

On Friday night, the BlackJacks host the Montreal Alliance at 7:30 p.m.

On Sunday, the BlackJacks face the Vancouver Bandits at 3 p.m.

Ottawa Titans

The Ottawa Titans host Quebec for a three-game series this weekend at the Ottawa Baseball Stadium.

The Upper Canada Village in Morrisburg hosts a Celebration of Canadian Music on Saturday.

Cooling off

You can cool off at several locations across Ottawa.

Ottawa beaches

Lifeguards are on duty at Ottawa beaches daily between 12 p.m. and 7 p.m.

• Petrie Island Beach
• Britannia Beach
• Mooney’s Bay Beach

The NCC River House along the Ottawa River is open for swimming. Lifeguards are on duty daily between 11 a.m. and 7:30 p.m.

Swimming is also permitted off the recreational dock at Dow’s Lake, along Queen Elizabeth Drive at Lakeside Avenue. No lifeguards are on duty.

NCC bike days

National Capital Commission’s weekend bikedays continue all weekend.

The NCC will close the parkways and Queen Elizabeth Driveway to vehicles for active use.

• Kichi Zībī Mīkan (Vimy Place to Carling Avenue): 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday
