A 25-year-old Ottawa man is facing charges after a vehicle crashed into the porch of a home in Almonte, Ont. Ontario Provincial Police responded to a call for a collision on Martin Street South in Mississippi Mills Township just before 7 p.m. on Monday. “Prior to police arrival, a second call was received about a male near the hospital attempting to access another vehicle before fleeing on foot again,” the OPP said in a media release. “Police attended and located the male a short distance away and arrested the male. It was determined this was the driver of the vehicle from the first call.” The suspect is charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, assault and mischief under $5,000. Police say he will appear in court in November.
