A Prince Albert police officer was seriously injured while chasing a robbery suspect earlier this week. Officers responded to a report of a robbery in the area of Sixth Avenue East at around 11:20 a.m. Wednesday. Arriving officers learned the suspect had fled the area. Shortly after, they found him nearby and began pursuing him on foot. Police say during the chase, an officer sustained a serious ankle injury and was taken to hospital for treatment. The suspect, a 37-year-old man, was later arrested and charged with robbery with violence, two counts of resisting arrest, uttering threats, obstructing a peace officer and operating a motor vehicle while prohibited. He made his first court appearance Thursday.
