Teen at Brookfield High School sent to hospital following assault

Ottawa paramedics say a teen boy at Brookfield High School was taken to hospital Tuesday afternoon following an assault.

Paramedics were called to the school over the lunch hour after two teenagers were injured. One went to the hospital in stable condition with non-life threatening injuries and the other was released at the scene with minor injuries.

Ottawa Paramedic Service spokesperson Marc-Antoine Deschamps described the injuries as “blunt.”

The Ottawa-Carleton District School Board said there was an altercation between two students, which caused the school to be placed in “secure” mode to help emergency responders manage the situation.

Ottawa police said officers were called because of a fight in the parking lot.

“All individuals involved have been identified, and no charges have been laid at this time,” police told CTV News Ottawa.

An investigation remains ongoing.
