Ribfest returns to Sparks Street

CTV Ottawa: Ribfest returns! The aroma of ribs fills the the air above Sparks Street as the popular festival returns for another year. CTV's Eric Longley reports.

Sparks Street is going to be covered in rib sauce.

Ottawa Ribfest is back, running June 18-22 along six blocks of the downtown pedestrian mall. The popular food event was last in Ottawa in October of last year.

Vendors, or “ribbers” from all over North America have set up shop along Sparks Street, barbecuing up their sticky finest to entice customer and vie for the coveted “Best Ribs” award.

Admission to the festival is free. It includes other food and drink options for non-rib lovers.

There will also be live entertainment on site…and plenty of napkins.
