Demolition has begun at the former Roseland Golf Clubhouse in Windsor.

Demolition is now underway at the former clubhouse at Roseland Golf Course, marking the next phase in the city’s plan to redevelop the historic municipal property.

Crews began tearing down the building Monday after fencing off the site along Kennedy Drive earlier this year. The clubhouse, built in 1979, has long served golfers at the city-owned course but is now being removed to make way for a new facility.

Windsor city council previously approved funding for the demolition as part of a broader modernization plan for Roseland, which includes constructing a smaller, updated clubhouse with a reduced footprint.

City officials have said the redesign will focus more on supporting the golf course itself, while offering improved and more efficient amenities for users.

The redevelopment is part of a longer-term vision for Roseland Golf Course, one of the few municipally owned courses in Canada designed by renowned golf architect Donald Ross.

Golf operations are expected to continue during construction, with temporary measures in place to accommodate players while the new clubhouse is planned and built.

No timeline has been publicly confirmed for completion of the new facility.
