Ottawa police and paramedics responded to three separate stabbings on Sunday where at least one person has been arrested. Paramedics say the first incident occurred in the 700 block of Somerset Street West near the corner of Booth Street at approximately 12:40 p.m. An adult male was found at the scene with stab wounds. He was transported to hospital in stable condition with non-life threatening injuries, according to paramedics spokesperson Marc-Antoine Deschamps. It’s unclear if any arrests have been made in the incident. Police were also called to Daly Avenue at approximately 7:45 p.m. where a 20-year-old man was found with knife wounds to his left armpit. He was transported to hospital in serious but stable condition, according to paramedics. No arrests were announced but police say there is no threat to public safety. Shortly after, police say officers responded to another stabbing at around 8 p.m. in the 100 block of George Street near Dalhousie Street in the ByWard Market. Police said in a social media post Monday that an interaction between two men resulted in one of them suffering non-life threatening injuries. A 37-year-old man was charged with three counts of breach of probation, possessing a weapon dangerous to public peace, carrying a concealed weapon, assault with a weapon or intimidation weapon, and aggravated assault. An investigation is ongoing.
