Gatineau police say the pilot of a small plane was not hurt after making an emergency landing in the Buckingham area Wednesday morning. Police were called to a field near Highway 50 and Lépine Avenue at around 10:30 a.m. The plane was experiencing mechanical difficulties, police said. The pilot was the only person on board. Officers from the Sûreté du Québec were also on scene to handle possible traffic disruptions on the highway. Gatineau police said the Transportation Safety Board of Canada has been notified of the incident. This is the second incident involving a small plane in the region this week. On Monday, a small plane crashed at the Carp Airport in Ottawa after losing engine power. Two people were treated for minor injuries.
