The Ottawa Senators have traded right winger Zack MacEwen to the New Jersey Devils in exchange for left winger Kurtis MacDermid. The 31-year-old MacDermid has played in 288 NHL games, logging 11 goals, 20 assists and 391 penalty minutes in those contests. Last season, he played 23 matches. The 6’5”, 223-pound skater debuted as an undrafted rookie with the Los Angeles Kings in the 2017-18 season. MacDermid played with the Colorado Avalanche, winning the Stanley Cup in 2022, before joining New Jersey in March 2024. MacEwen spent the last two seasons with the Senators organization. The 29-year-old played 51 games with Ottawa and 33 games with the AHL’s Belleville Senators. He had two goals and one assist in 21 games last season.
