A man is dead after being stabbed in Calgary’s East Village on Friday night, police say. The incident happened in the 500 block of Seventh Avenue S.E. around 7 p.m. It’s believed that two men had gotten into a fight, with one of the individuals stabbing the other. “Officers located one man suffering from significant injuries. He was taken to hospital in life-threatening condition. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries,” police said in a release. Police say the suspect fled the scene and remains at large. After reviewing security footage, police released a photo of a man and woman they believe are connected with the incident. “This was a brazen act of violence that claimed a person’s life,” said Staff Sgt. Mark Rahn in a release. “We are working to determine exactly what happened and are asking anyone with information to come forward.” An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday. Anyone with information can contact police at 403-266-1234 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
