The Ottawa Police Service has identified one of three women wanted in connection with a string of thefts from businesses in the west end. The thefts took place on Nov. 23, at businesses on Carling Avenue near Clyde, Richmond Road near Churchill Avenue, and Eagleson Road near Stonehaven Drive. Police say the suspects entered each store, concealed merchandise in their clothing, and left. Police did not say what items were allegedly stolen, but described the reported thefts as being of “high value” in a news release. On Dec. 10, police released the descriptions of three suspects. On Tuesday, police said one of the suspects had been identified, and police were still working to identify two other suspects. Suspect one is described as 35 to 40 years old, approximately 5-foot-8 to 6-feet tall and 170 lbs. At the time of the incidents, she was wearing a light grey hijab, a long grey winter coat, and carrying a black purse. The other suspect is described as 30 to 35 years old, with long dark hair, and approximately 180 lbs. At the time of the incidents, she was wearing a long black dress under a long black puffy jacket.
