Ottawa Charge’s Shiann Darkangelo signs with Montreal Victoire

A top goal scorer for the Ottawa Charge is leaving the capital and heading to Montreal.

The Montreal Victoire announced Tuesday it signed forward Shiann Darkangelo to a two-year contract.

Darkangelo had eight goals and nine assists in the 2024-25 regular season in 29 games and scored one goal in the 2025 playoffs. She began her Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL) career with PWHL Boston (now the Boston Fleet) before being traded to Ottawa in the inaugural season.

Darkangelo was third in scoring for the Charge in the 2025 behind Tereza Vanišová with 15 goals and Emily Clark with nine, and she was third in overall points with 17.

“I am thrilled to be joining Montreal and grateful for the opportunity to represent such a passionate city and fan base. I’m looking forward to being part of a great group of teammates, and can’t wait for the season to start,” said Darkangelo in a news release.

The Charge thanked Darkangelo for her time with Ottawa.

“Shi, thank you for all you did in a Charge uniform,” the Charge said.

“Your leadership, skill, and experience will be missed on and off the ice. All the best in your next chapter!”

Darkangelo’s departure comes after the PWHL expansion draft, in which four Charge players were sent to the expansion teams in Seattle and Vancouver. Defenders Ashton Bell and Aneta Tejralová were selected in the draft. Goalie Emerance Maschmeyer and forward Danielle Serdachny were signed during the exclusive signing window the week prior.
