Kittens need fostering after being found at LRT site

Workers at the LRT site on Cyrville Road in Ottawa’s east end made an adorable discovery on Tuesday  - a litter of kittens and their mom.

The six kittens, believed to be about seven to 10 days old, were taken in by Ottawa Stray Cat Rescue.

Those working on the site were said to be so taken with the felines that they may be given naming rights to the cats - something LRT related.

Ottawa Stray Cat Rescue says a number of workers have come forward wishing to donate to the organization or adopt one of the kittens.

For now, the kittens and their mom need a foster home where they will stay for a few months until they're old enough to be adopted.

Donations are also key, according to volunteer Claire Castell who is looking after the kittens.

"Whatever people can afford, money is always useful. Cat food, especially kitten food, cat litter," Castell said.
