Here’s what’s open and closed on Family Day in Ottawa

CTVNewsOttawa.ca looks at what’s open and closed in Ottawa during the Family Day weekend.

OC Transpo

• OC Transpo buses and O-Train Lines 1, 2 and 4 will operate on a normal weekday schedule on Monday.
• The Winterlude Sno-Bus will run for free between Winterlude sites in Ottawa and Gatineau on Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
• Rural Shopper Route 301 will not run on Monday
• Para Transpo regular bookings and recurring trips for Monday are automatically cancelled.
• Customers can book family trips for Family Day by calling 613-560-5000 or using My Para Transpo.

Ottawa Client Service Centres

• Ottawa City Hall and the Client Service Centres at Ben Franklin Place and at 255 Centrum Boulevard in Orléans will be closed
• The City of Ottawa’s Provincial Offences Court at 100 Constellation Drive will be closed on Monday
• The Business Licensing Centre at 735 Industrial Avenue will be closed.
• The City of Ottawa Spay and Neuter Clinic at 26 Concourse Gate will be closed.
• The City of Ottawa Archives at the James Bartleman Centre will be closed Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

Green bin, recycling and garbage collection

• There will be no curbside green bin, recycling or garbage collection on Monday. Pickup will be delayed by one day all week.
• Multi-residential garbage containers will be collected on the regular scheduled day.
• The Trail Road Waste Facility will be open on Monday between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.

City of Ottawa services

• All City of Ottawa childcare centres will be closed on Monday
• All Ottawa Public Library branches will be closed on Family Day
• The City of Ottawa says community centres, pools and recreation facilities will be closed or have altered hours. Visit the facility pages on the city’s website for details.
• The Barbara Ann Scott Gallery, the Karsh Masson Gallery and the City Hall Art Gallery will be closed on Monday
• Gallery 112 at the James Bartleman Centre will be closed
• The Ottawa Public Health Site mobile van will operate from 5 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.
• The Sexual Health Clinic and satellite clinics will be closed
• Ottawa Public Health dental clinics will be closed on Family Day
• The Parenting-in-Ottawa drop-ins will be closed on Monday

Shopping malls

• Rideau Centre will be open on Monday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
• Tanger Outlets will be open on Family Day

Bayshore Shopping Centre, Billings Bridge Shopping Centre, Carlingwood Shopping Centre, Place d’Orleans Shopping Centre, and St. Laurent Shopping Centre will be closed on Monday.

Grocery stores

The following grocery stores will be open on Family Day

• Farm Boy Rideau: Open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
• Loblaws on Isabella Street: Open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
• Loblaws on Rideau Street: Open 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
• Metro Glebe: Open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
• Metro Rideau: Open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
• Whole Foods Lansdowne: Open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Beer Store/LCBO

All LCBO outlets and Beer Store locations will be closed on Family Day.

Select Wine Rack locations will be open on Family Day. Check individual stores for hours.

Museums

• Canadian Museum of Nature will be open Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday
• Canada Agriculture and Food Museum will be open Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday
• Canada Science and Technology Museum will be open Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday
• Canada Aviation and Space Museum will be open Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday
• Canadian War Museum will be open Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday
• Canadian Museum of History will be open Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday
• National Gallery of Canada will be open all weekend, including Family Day
• Ottawa Art Gallery will be closed on Family Day
• The Bytown Museum will be open Friday to Sunday
• The Diefenbunker will be open Friday to Sunday. The museum is closed on Monday.

Government services

All ServiceOntario offices in Ottawa and across eastern Ontario will be closed on Family Day.

All banks will be closed on Family Day.

All Passport Office and Service Canada locations will be open on Monday.

There will be Canada Post mail delivery on Monday. Canada Post offices will also be open.
