Cold temperatures to grip Ottawa today, 5 cm of snow expected on Wednesday

Ottawa residents will want to bundle up today as cold temperatures grip the capital, with 4 to 6 centimetres of snow expected on Wednesday.

The temperature was -16 C at 6 a.m., with the wind chill making it feel like -24.

Environment Canada’s forecast calls for a high of -14 C today and a low of -16 C tonight, before warmer than seasonal temperatures arrive on Wednesday.

Ottawa will see a mix of sun and cloud today with a 40 per cent chance of flurries. High -14 C.

Snow is expected to begin overnight. Amount 2 cm. Low -16 C.

Flurries will continue on Wednesday. Environment Canada says Ottawa will see 2 to 4 cm of snow. High -1 C.

Thursday will be cloudy with a chance of flurries. High -3 C.

The outlook for Friday calls for mainly cloudy conditions. High 1 C.

Saturday will be cloudy with a 30 per cent chance of flurries or showers. High 4 C.

The normal temperatures for this time of year are a high of -2 C and a low of -11 C.
