Ontario Provincial Police are investigating after one person was found dead inside a residential fire Thursday morning in Chapleau. Police and the Chapleau Fire Department responded to the blaze at around 6 a.m. May 14 on King Street. “One person was located inside the residence deceased,” the OPP said in a news release. “The scene is being held while the OPP forensic identification service and Chief Fire Marshall conclude their investigation.” Nearby residents and motorists are being asked to avoid the area of King Street until investigators have completed their work.
