Another rainy day with possible thunderstorms in Ottawa

Ottawa could see more rain and thunderstorms on Wednesday, after some parts of the city saw hail the day before.

A thunderstorm moved through Ottawa on Tuesday, causing heavy downpours downtown and several reports of hail from residents in the east end of the city.

Environment Canada’s weather forecast for Ottawa calls for a high of 24 C on Wednesday with a humidex of 26. Showers with the risk of a thunderstorm are in the forecast during the day.

More showers and possible thunderstorms are expected overnight, with 5 to 10 millimetres of rain possible. The overnight low is 15 C.

Thursday could see another 10 to 15 mm of rain with a high of 23 C and a humidex of 28. There could be a thunderstorm during the morning or early afternoon.

Friday’s outlook is cloudy with a 60 per cent chance of showers and a high of 22 C.

Saturday’s forecast calls for a high of 20 C with a 40 per cent chance of showers. Sunday shows a mix of sun and cloud with a high of 22 C and a 30 per cent chance of showers.
