An eastern Ontario suspect is facing over 80 charges for alleged break-ins and thefts in the Bancroft, Ont. area. Ontario Provincial Police say officers began investigating an increase of break-ins over the last several months. After an investigation, police identified a person of interest and obtained a search warrant. Last week, the search warrant was executed at a property in Carlow Mayo Township, where officers found a large quantity of stolen property. The items included several vehicles, dirtbikes, utility trailers, firearms, ammunition, and power tools, police say. The recovered items are said to be worth more than $200,000. A 27-year-old suspect of Carlow Mayo Township was arrested on 83 charges for offences that range from theft, breaking and enter and illegal possession of firearms. The accused was held for a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date. The OPP says anyone who may have been the victim of a recent theft or break-in incident and has not yet reported it to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
