Suspicious fire destroys vacant house in Sudbury

Vacant Sudbury home destroyed by fire Fire officials say a vacant home on Bulmer Avenue was destroyed by what is being called a 'suspicious' fire. No word on the cause.

A fire destroyed an unoccupied home in the West End of Greater Sudbury Tuesday evening.

Firefighters responded to the home on Bulmer Avenue around 9 p.m. By that time, officials told CTV News that the house was fully engulfed by flames.

Police and the fire marshal are investigating. Spokesperson Kaitlyn Dunn said police provided traffic control as firefighters extinguished the blaze.

“Upon extinguishing the fire, firefighters deemed the fire to be suspicious,” Dunn said in a message.

“Member of our criminal investigation division are working in collaboration with the Ontario Fire Marshall's office to determine the cause of the fire.”
