Sault police say woman had 18 different ID cards when she was arrested

Police in Sault Ste. Marie say a 34-year-old woman was carrying 18 identification cards and six bank cards not in her name when she was arrested.

She was stopped by police around 9:10 a.m. April 27 while walking on East Street because she had violated the conditions of an undertaking, police said in a news release April 30.

“Upon searching the accused, officers located eighteen identification cards and six bank cards not in the accused’s name,” the release said.

Charges include 18 counts of possession of an identity document, six counts of possession of credit cards not in their name and failing to comply with an undertaking.

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on July 20.
