Airline adds 4 sun destinations from Edmonton for 2026-27

Edmonton is getting flights to four new sun destinations this year through Toronto-based Porter Airlines.

A national airline is expanding service from Edmonton to four sun destinations starting later this year.

Toronto-based Porter Airlines said in a media release on Thursday it’s adding Phoenix, Las Vegas and Mexican destinations Puerto Vallarta and Los Cabos starting in November.

Service to Phoenix is slated to be daily, to Las Vegas and Los Cabos four times a week, and to Puerto Vallarta three times a week.

Calgary, too, is adding a daily Phoenix flight by Porter.

The international flights are Porter’s first from Alberta.

Andrew Pierce, the airline’s vice-president of network planning and reporting, said a successful first winter season of flying to southern markets beyond the United States has led to the airline adding more routes from more airports.

“Our network is growing by two new countries, four cities and 15 routes through this announcement,” Pierce said in the news release. “Six airports across Canada are benefiting from this service, giving travellers many new and competitive options for choosing their winter getaways.”
