Northern Ont. woman claims $50K prize with bingo scratch ticket

A woman from North Bay, Ont., is celebrating a major lottery win after scratching out a $50,000 bingo prize on an instant game ticket.

Gilberte Dumoulin struck it rich playing Instant Bingo (Game #3042), a $3 lottery scratch ticket with odds of winning any prize at 1 in 3.68.

Bingo players scratch the 25 caller’s card numbers across four bingo cards on the ticket to review patterns for a chance to win up to $50,000.

Dumoulin, 92, told OLG that she has been a loyal lottery player since 1993, enjoying Lotto 6/49 and Bingo a few times a week.

“I found out I won while at home, and I was in disbelief,” she said, while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up her winnings.

Dumoulin said she plans to put her windfall toward renovating her kitchen and floors.

The winning ticket was purchased at Shoppers Drug Mart on Cassells Street in North Bay, OLG confirmed.
