North Bay teacher guilty of possession of child pornography

A man who has taught in North Bay has been found guilty of possessing child sexual abuse material, the Ontario College of Teachers has confirmed.

In a post on its website, the college said Jeffrey Graham was found guilty last July 24 in North Bay.

“Between Dec. 23, 2020, and March 9, 2023, in the City of North Bay and elsewhere in the Province of Ontario, did have in his possession child pornography … a media file,” the post said.

He was sentenced to two years less a day and placed on probation for two years, in addition to several other orders.

They include that, for the next 20 years, he is prohibited from attending parks or swimming areas where anyone under the age of 16 may be present.

That includes “a daycare centre, school ground, playground or community centre.

He is also prohibited from “seeking, obtaining or continuing any employment, whether or not the employment is remunerated, or becoming or being a volunteer in a capacity that involves being in a position of trust or authority towards a person under the age of 16 years.”

He is also prohibited from having any contact with anyone under age 16 “unless the offender does so under the supervision of a person whom the court considers appropriate.”
