Criminal harassment charges laid in North Bay after tire-slashing incident

A 24-year-old North Bay man is facing charges after a targeted incident in the Main Street West area of the city earlier this month.

North Bay police say the accused followed a woman in her vehicle at about 2:45 p.m. on Feb. 8. After the woman parked and got out of her car, the man is accused of slashing her tires, causing her to fear for her safety.

Acting Insp. Vincent Corrente said police are committed to addressing such behaviour.

“Criminal harassment, threats, or any form of intimidation will not be tolerated,” Corrente said in a news release.

“We hold public safety as our highest priority,” Corrente added.

The local man has been charged with criminal harassment and mischief.

“The victim and the accused are known to each other,” said the North Bay Police Service.

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
