A woman was injured following an armed attack on Saturday afternoon in the Ville-Marie borough. The authorities were contacted at around 4:45 p.m. and went to Bleury Street, near Concorde Street. On arrival at the scene, police found a 26-year-old woman with injuries to her upper body. The woman was quickly taken to hospital, where her condition was initially considered life-threatening, reported Johany Charland, spokesperson for the Montreal Police Service (SPVM), late on Saturday. She is now in a stable condition. “According to initial information, the suspect is believed to have injured the victim in the upper body with what may have been a sharp object, for reasons that remain unknown,” said Charland. The suspect is believed to have fled before the police arrived, Charland said. Charland added that no arrests had been made as yet and that the investigation is ongoing.
