Three-wheeled chase through downtown Montreal

Police have arrested a 26-year-old man following a high-speed chase in downtown Montreal.

Around midnight police spotted the stolen car near Robert Bourassa Blvd. and René Levesque Blvd., and apparently at that point the BMW was heading down the street with only three wheels.

The driver led police across town to De Lorimier and René Levesque, with one witness saying the driver tried to get onto the Ville Marie Expressway but could not because of construction detours.

The chase came to an end on St. Urbain Blvd. when police were finally able to stop the crippled vehicle and arrest the driver.

Police say the BMW was stolen.

One witness said the car was stolen from an Esso station at Cavendish and Cote St. Luc Rd. when the driver went inside to pay for gas.
