Police searching for escaped convict Sylvain Lauzon

Police are looking for a convict who escaped from a medium-security unit of the Archambault Institution in Ste-Anne-des-Plaines on Tuesday afternoon.

At noon, staff at the prison were conducting a count of inmates and could not account for Sylvain Lauzon, a 43-year-old serving four years and 10 months for robbery, disguise with intent, dangerous driving and other offences.

Lauzon stands 5’9 and weighs 144 lbs. He has pale skin, blue eyes, auburn hair and a tattoo on his right upper arm of two dragons in the shape of a heart. He also has other tattoos on his torso, back, left calf and right shoulder and a scar on his left ankle.

Anyone who has information on his whereabouts is asked to call 911.
