Teenager hospitalized after stabbing in park in Brossard

A 19-year-old man is in the hospital after being stabbed in Parc Plaisance in Brossard, on Montreal's South Shore.

A 19-year-old man was sent to hospital after he was stabbed in a park on Montreal’s South Shore Tuesday evening, police say.

Around 7:15 p.m., Longueuil police received a 911 call and responded to Parc Plaisance in Brossard, near Pinard Street, between Paquette and Plaisance avenues.

When officers arrived, they found the teenager suffering from injuries to his upper body that were not considered to be life-threatening.

“People present at the time of the assault were also affected by pepper spray. The suspects fled the scene and are still being sought,” police said in a post on social media.

Longueuil police say the 19-year-old who was stabbed is known by the authorities.

No arrests have been made but the investigation is ongoing.
