Body discovered in tent near the foot of the Jacques-Cartier Bridge

Montreal police are investigating a suspicious death after a body was found inside a tent near the Jacques-Cartier Bridge.

A 911 call at around 8 a.m. reported an unresponsive individual inside a tent at the corner of De Lorimier Avenue and Logan Street near the former Familex factory building, which burnt down in January.

First responders found a 36-year-old person who was pronounced deceased on scene.

Police did not specify the victim’s sex.

SPVM spokesperson Raphael Bergeron said that due to the unclear circumstances around the individual’s death, investigators have been detached to determine the causes and circumstances surrounding their death.
