A traffic complaint of a commercial motor vehicle driving in a dangerous manner led Ontario Provincial Police to charge a Brampton man June 23 on Highway 400 in Seguin Township. “At approximately 11:30 p.m., the West Parry Sound Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police received a traffic complaint on Highway 400 regarding a southbound commercial motor vehicle swerving within its lane, striking the shoulder, crossing the centre line, and nearly causing collisions with other motorists,” police said in a news release June 26. “Officers observed signs of impairment and a sobriety was completed with the driver, who was arrested for impaired operation.” A 27-year-old man with impaired driving, dangerous operation, a window obstruction and failure to surrender insurance. In addition to the charges, the driver was issued a 90-day licence suspension while the vehicle was impounded for seven days, police said. The accused is scheduled to appear in Parry Sound court Aug. 20.
