Sun coming for the weekend but rain may hit the Angine de Poitrine Montreal Jazz Fest show

Those in the greater Montreal area can expect a break from gloomy weather this weekend.

Scattered showers and clouds are forecast to clear from around the island area on Friday overnight.

A low of 16 degrees Celsius is expected to move to a high of 25 degrees Celsius on Saturday.

Saturday afternoon will also bring a mix of sun and clouds in the skies. Though the evening could bring a chance of showers and a thunderstorm risk, according to Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC).

Those excited for the Angine de Poitrine outdoor show at the Montreal Jazz Fest may want to wear a hat.

A brighter Sunday lies ahead. Mainly sunny skies and an above-seasonal high of 28 degrees Celsius are forecast to end the weekend.

The normal daytime high is 25 degrees Celsius at this time in June.
