Two people sent to hospital after crash in Elgin County

OPP shut down Lyons Line north of Aylmer for two vehicle crash on Monday morning that saw one person with critical injures and another with serious injuries.

Injuries have been updated to “non-life-threatening” after a crash in Elgin County on Monday morning.

It was initially reported by police that two people had life-threatening injuries after the crash that closed Lyons Line in both directions between Imperial Road and Newell Road in Springfield.

According to police, the driver of the pickup truck, a 59-year-old from Brownsville and a 21-year-old from London who was operating the sedan, were transported to a local hospital.

Emergency services responded to the scene around 7:30 a.m. with the road staying closed for about six hours.

There is no word on what caused the crash or if any charges will be laid.
