Fatal crash in Middlesex County involving cyclist

A section of Melbourne Road in Adelaide Metcalfe is closed following a fatal collision involving a passenger vehicle and a cyclist.

According to police, the incident occurred between Olde Drive and Inadale Drive.

When police first responded to the collision around noon, the status of the cyclist’s injuries was unknown at that time, but officials have since confirmed their death.

Police have not released further details at this time.

Authorities are urging motorists to avoid the area and use alternate routes while crews continue to respond and investigate.

No timeline has been provided for when the roadway will reopen.
