More local Beer Stores closing in southwestern Ontario

The Beer Store has announced the closure of more local stores in southwestern Ontario.

Among the stores closing in on Oct. 18 are Grand Bend, Forest, and Sauble Beach.

“Where we sell beer and collect empties in Ontario is changing. The Beer Store is modernizing to meet the changing marketplace and unfortunately this means making the hard decision to close retail locations,” read a statement.

“We know this is difficult news for customers and employees,” said Ozzie Ahmed, vice president retail. “As The Beer Store modernizes, our locations will continue to provide friendly customer service and a deposit return system that gets consumers their money back.”

In July, it was announced that stores in Clinton, Norwich, Rodney and Wingham would also be closing.
