March break officially underway in London

March break is officially underway and families across the region are looking for ways to make the most of the week. CTV’s Lauren Stallone reports.

Kids are trading their books and pencils for a week of March break fun.

“I’m very happy to be off,” said one kid.

“There’s nothing fun about school.”

Another child said she was excited to get a break from school.

“You get to do whatever you want and try new things,” she said.

March break gives families the opportunity to get out of the house. At The Factory in London Ont., it was a busy day with kids looking for something fun to do while school is out.

“We’re excited for it to be lined up out the door and out our other entrance,” said Dylan Lee, general manager of The Factory.

“The hero room right now is packed so all the little ones are having a great time, and all the parents are probably going to be at the bar or the viewing deck.”

One parent said it can be tricky to figure out how to keep her kids busy but is excited to spend the week together.

“Its amazing,” she said.

“It gives us family time and gives us a chance to connect with each other.”

Lee said this week is one of their busiest times of the year.

“We just make sure that we have as many bodies as we possibly can to make sure that parents and little ones are having the best time,” he said.

Many kids said the best part of March break is spending the week with family and friends.

“It’s nice to spend time with people who love you,” said another child.
