Two people have been arrested, and two more suspects are sought by police after a shooting inside a London public housing apartment Monday. A male victim suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries according to the London Police Service. It was Monday evening when Jamie Henry came home to his 7th floor apartment at 580 Dundas St. He says his neighbour, who lives two doors down, had been shot. “Kind of scary at first, but I sat in the lounge most of the night until it was cleared to go back upstairs,” said Henry. London police say officers were called to the building, which is directly across from police headquarters, at about 6:25 pm Monday. Investigators learned a man was inside an apartment with a woman when three men entered the unit. One suspect produced a handgun and shot the male victim before all three suspects fled. The gunshot victim was taken to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries. The gunshot victim returned to his apartment Wednesday but declined to speak with reporters. A notice on his door said the unit is secured by the landlord, London and Middlesex Community Housing. “Many of the motivations and details are still under investigation. We can say that the suspects were known to the victim,” explained Actg. Supt. Det. Sean Travis. Travis says two people were arrested after they took a taxi from the scene, including a female suspect who had not been in the apartment at the time of the shooting. A firearm was found among their property, Travis adds. “We were able to trace one of the involved individuals to a taxi company. And in that we were able to effect an arrest,” he said. According to police, Shane Joseph Donald Ardiel, 25, of London, has been charged with the following offences for his alleged involvement: Deona Doxtator, 23, also of London, has been charged with the following offences for her alleged involvement: The two accused remain in custody and are scheduled for a court appearance Thursday. Police continue to search for two additional suspects. Travis says investigators believe this was not a random incident. “In this case the offenders are known to each other. We don’t believe there’s an extended risk to the community as a result of this shooting,” Travis said. Police say this is the fourth reported shooting incident in London this year. In 2025 there were 32 in total. As for Henry, he says he’s lived in the public building for 10 years, and in that time, he has seen so much, that nothing is a surprise. “I’ve seen some fires, overdoses, deaths, and shootings and stabbings,” Henry said.
