London police search for two suspects after downtown shooting leaves man injured

Police are searching for two suspects following a shooting in the downtown core Monday night.

Officers were called to the 500 block of Dundas Street near Adelaide Street around 6:25 p.m. Police said a man and a woman were inside a residential unit when three men entered.

According to police, one of the suspects produced a handgun and shot the male victim before all three suspects fled the area.

The victim was found suffering from a gunshot wound and was taken to hospital with serious but non‑life‑threatening injuries.

One suspect was identified and arrested around 9:20 p.m. Police said a woman was also arrested with him, and a handgun was recovered during a search.

A 25‑year‑old London man has been charged with discharging a firearm in a reckless manner, possessing a restricted or prohibited firearm without a licence, occupying a motor vehicle with a firearm, possessing a prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition, and aggravated assault.

A 23‑year‑old London woman has been charged with possessing a restricted or prohibited firearm without a licence, occupying a motor vehicle with a firearm, and possessing a prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition.

Police continue to search for two additional suspects and say the incident was not random.
