London Knights win third straight game, inch closer to securing home ice advantage in playoffs

Braiden Clark scored his fifth goal in the past three games, and it proved to be the winner as the London Knights beat the Erie Otters 3-1 Saturday.

The overage forward broke a 1-1 tie at 19:22 of the second period, adding to his first career OHL hat trick Friday night as the Knights swept the back-to-back series.

Rene Van Bommel and William Nicholl each scored and goaltender Sebastian Gatto stopped 20 of 21 shots in the win.

The Knights have now climbed to within one point of the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds for fourth in the Western Conference.

Despite trading off assets at the deadline in January, London has held steady in fifth spot at 79 points with five games to go. The Greyhounds sit at 80 points with six games remaining.

Next up for the Knights are the Guelph Storm at Canada Life Place on Friday.
