Handgun, drugs, cash seized after police execute search warrant on west end home

A 19-year-old Londoner is facing more than a dozen charges after police executed a search warrant on a home in the city’s west end on Friday.

According to a news release from the London Police Service, on Friday members of the Guns and Gangs Section along with the assistance from members of the Emergency Response Unit and Canine Unit executed a search warrant at a home in the area of Commissioners Road West and Stephen Street.

Police say the search of the residence led to the following items being seized:

• Glock 45 9mm handgun
• 30 round magazine with 30 rounds of 9mm ammunition inside
• 17 round magazine with 17 rounds of 9mm ammunition inside
• 340 grams of cocaine
• 56 grams of fentanyl
• 112 Teva-Oxycocet (oxycodone) pills
• 28 grams of cutting agent
• $5,000 of Canadian currency

As a result of the investigation, a 19-year-old man from London has been charged with the following offences for his alleged involvement:

• Possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order – four (4) counts
• Careless storage or firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition – three (3) counts
• Possess restricted or prohibited firearm knowingly not holding a license and registration certificate
• Possession of a prohibited or restricted weapon or prohibited device knowing no authority unauthorized
• Possess loaded/unloaded regulated firearm
• Fail to comply with sentence – three (3) counts
• Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – three (3) counts

The accused remains in custody and was scheduled to appear in London court on Friday in relation to the charges.
