Family of fallen OPP officer speak on 'move over' law

The family of an OPP officer who died after being injured while conducting roadside check is speaking out in support of the province's move over law.

Sergeant Margaret Eve of the Chatham-Kent Detachment died after a transport slammed into three police cruisers in June 2000.

Her husband and daughter spoke in support of the law at a news conference Friday.

The law requires motorists to slow down and pull over into an outer lane if possible when emergency vehicles with lights flashing are stopped on side of the road.
