Flames tore through Garden Fork restaurant in Brentwood Bay early Saturday morning, causing “significant damage” to the building, according to local firefighters. Central Saanich Fire Department said in a post on social media that its crews had been called to a structure fire at the restaurant just after 3 a.m. When they arrived, they found the structure at the corner of Keating Cross and West Saanich roads “heavily involved,” with fire burning in the basement, on the main floor and in the attic. “Unfortunately, the building sustained significant damage,” the post reads. “The cause of the fire is under investigation.” On its own social media, Garden Fork announced it would be closed until further notice because of the blaze. “We are thankful that everyone is safe and would like to thank the firefighters and emergency responders for their quick response,” the restaurant’s post reads. “Thank you to our guests, staff, and community for your support during this difficult time.”
