Be prepared for foggy, slippery conditions

CTV News Meteorologist Gary Archibald has the details on your London, Ont.-area forecast.

Fog will continue to be an issue as we head into Monday evening, according to CTV News Meteorologist Gary Archibald.

“We are noting that temperatures are hovering around the freezing mark. So freezing fog adds another element of risk,” he explained. “The suspended droplets freezing on contact with surfaces plus reduced visibility makes for slippery conditions.”

Archibald adds that the temperature will continue to rise well into the afternoon, but the wind speeds will increase as well, but calmer conditions are expected late tonight.

Looking ahead, “We head towards the midweek with significant rain on the way,” warned Archibald. “The next 24 to 48 hours, it is cloudy. It is foggy.”

“Wherever you are, do travel safely and rain is expected through the midweek. Do be prepared for that,” he concluded.

Environment Canada has issued a yellow fog advisory for the region Monday.

Visibility could be near zero in areas.
