A sticky start to your weekend, with a chance of showers

CTV London Meteorologist Julie Atchison brings you the latest forecast details heading into the weekend.

Hot and humid conditions are expected in the area for your Friday- with the heat expected to persist into the weekend.

“Temperatures in the afternoon are feeling like the upper 30s,” cautioned CTV London Meteorologist Julie Atchison. “We’ll start the day with a mix of sun and cloud and winds light out of the south.”

There is the chance of a shower in the afternoon, as well as isolated thunderstorms throughout the region.

Forecasts through the weekend are looking a fairly quiet, “the weekend (will be) a bit unsettled, we’ll be dodging some showers,” said Atchison. “Anytime you get an air mass like this, there is the potential for scattered showers developing.”

Chances for rain will increase headed into the evening on Saturday, although it doesn’t look to be a rainout, although, “not great in terms of high humidity,” admitted Atchison.

Humidity is expected to lessen heading into next week.

Friday: Becoming cloudy in the morning. 30 percent chance of showers in the afternoon. Risk of a thunderstorm in the afternoon. Fog patches dissipating in the morning. Wind becoming south 20 km/h late in the afternoon. High 29. Humidex 37. UV index 4 or moderate.

Friday night: Cloudy. 40 per cent chance of showers late in the evening and after midnight with risk of a thunderstorm. Wind becoming southwest 30 km/h before morning. Low 20.

Saturday: Increasing cloudiness. High 31.

Sunday: A mix of sun and cloud with 60 per cent chance of showers. High 28.

Monday: Sunny. High 29.

Tuesday: A mix of sun and cloud with 30 percent chance of showers. High 30.
