Snow and strong winds expected for Waterloo Region, Guelph and Stratford

Winter isn't done with us yet! CTV's Ashley Bacon tells us how much snow we could get Friday.

People living in Waterloo Region, Guelph and Stratford may need to get their shovels back out.

A special weather statement from Environment Canada is predicting up to 15 cm of snow on Friday.

They said the snow would start in the morning and then transition to rain or flurries by the afternoon.

Blowing snow could also be an issue for drivers, with wind gusts between 50 km/h and 70 km/h possible.

Temperatures were expected to hit a high of 3 degrees Celsius during the day, then dropping to -3 degrees Celsius overnight. With the windchill, it could feel closer to -11.

Environment Canada’s forecast also showed 2 cm of snow accumulation by the next morning.

On Saturday, the agency said there was a 40 per cent chance of flurries in the morning and feel like -10 with the windchill.
