Monday is election day for local governments in New Brunswick. Polls will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. There are roughly 1,100 people nominated as candidates for mayor, council and district education councils across the province. About 68 per cent of positions will be decided by ballots on election day, while the rest are already acclaimed. Elections NB says individuals who are registered to vote can find their polling station details on the voter information cards mailed to them. Polling station information and details about the candidates on the ballot can be found online for each address. Elections NB says people who aren’t registered to vote can be added to the voters list by bringing specific identification to a polling station or returning office.
