Waterloo Regional Police are investigating after multiple bullets were fired into a business in Kitchener early Sunday. Police said they received reports at about 2:30 a.m. of multiple rounds being fired into a business in the area of River Road and Morgan Avenue. The business was closed and an individual was inside at the time, but no injuries were reported. Investigators believe the incident was targeted. “Upon investigation, [officers] determined that there were two shots [fired] into the business that went through the front glass of the business itself,” Const. Chris Iden said. “Thankfully, nobody was injured. We’re still determining if it was from a vehicle or from an individual within the parking lot. There were some casings located, as a result of the shooting. There’s still evidence being collected at this time as well.” The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the Waterloo Regional Police Service General Investigations Unit at 519-570-9777, ext. 4496.
